A Drop of Love: A Journey of Love From Imagination into Full-Blossom Reality
Published in Paperback by Hatched Ideas Publishing (25 November, 2001)
Average review score:

One hundred upbeat poemsA Drop Of Love is Bradford Johnson's poetic celebrations all the aspects of romantic relationships. This outstanding and enthusiastically recommended collection of one hundred upbeat poems are showcased with chapter illustrations and thematic border designs by Janice Clymer. Love As A Strategy: In our unspoken pledges/we entrust each other/with vulnerabilities/that we don't even know/about ourselves;//in our labor of love we refuel smiles with sunrise,/and acknowledge the sunsets/as they lure away the/last remaining daylight.//In our chess game/with the world we search/our hearts for survival tactics/to move successfully/against the timer;/in our lust for living/we rage, rage against/the dying of what might/really be an answer disguised/within the question.//In our own ambiguities/and uncertainties we may wonder,/but we stoke the fires of action/so that, ultimately, we will/die with our boots on.

Complexity Theory and PsychologyThis book is among the first to apply complexity theory to developmental psychology, and is definitely a must read for anyone interested in either topic. When read in conjunction with Port and Van Gelder's Mind as Motion, Walter Freeman's How Brains Make Up Their Minds, and Alicia Juarrero's Dynamics in Action, one begins to see aborning the outline of a new framework for a naturalized philosophy of mind.

Average review score:

Real easyI think interpretation of an ECG couldn't have been easier. The books deals with the basics of ECG, as to how it evolved, and how exactly are the waves produced on the paper. Book talks everything possible in ECG and puts everything piece by piece, making the big picture. From deviations to arrhythmias to different disease conditions made unbelievably easy. Never thought I could learn it so well. A definite buy for medical students...like me.

Everything's Coming Up Fractions
Published in Paperback by Pearson Learning (February, 1997)
Average review score:

Painless fractionsThe first time I used this book was in a classroom of 6th - 8th grade students. Their math abilities ranged from 1st to 7th grade as did their reading abilities. Out of 15 students, one found the work difficult. For the rest, this book made learning fractions painless! Each child went at his/her own rate and one child managed to finish the book in two weeks (making me wish I had just as good materials in other topics!) I LOVE this book. After coming home to teach my own children, I made sure to add it to our home library AND to the library I manage for a group of homeschoolers. I can't imagine teaching fractions any other way.
You'll need a box of cuisenaire rods. You can use the c-rods to teach multiplication, division, subtraction, addition, area, perimeter, measurement, and even algebra so buying a box is well worth it.
Each step for learning fractions is broken down in manageable (and rememberable) segments. After each segment is a fun puzzle that the teacher can use to make sure the concept was understood (a test that doesn't look like a test.) The kids love the puzzles and love using the rods. Why use any other system?

Feasting Free on Wild Edibles
Published in Paperback by Stackpole Books (01 January, 2002)
Average review score:

excellent resource! This is the first book I've found that ever really tells you what wild plants are edible.
It's not a "read through" book, but it is eminently valueable for finding out if specific nuts/berries/roots are edible. There are line drawings and Latin names to help with identification. The writing style is informative but not persnicketty. Each plant has 'receipes' and occasionally anecdotes. Infact there are so many 'receipes' that it occasionally comes over as a frusterated gormet cookbook!
But don't worry; the first and best purpose is finding out which plants are edible. How to prepare them is merely a bonus.
In short, this is what I've been looking for for years: a consise, trustworthy guide to identifying wild edibles.
THE book to own on the subject.

ExcellentI hated chemistry in Highschool and College. Later, when I needed to learn more about this subject this is the book I picked. Simply put, the best text on Chemistry I have ever seen, have read it twice and constantly refer to it!
